Green Heron, (Butorides virescens)
We saw this green heron last night as we were taking a walk at sunset. The bird froze when it saw us and I was lucky enough to get this snapshot. Green Heron’s are common at the ponds, lakes and creeks at the PGT. Because they are skittish you may never see one except as it is flying away.
