Bird’s-foot violet, Viola pedata

The Bird’s-foot violet is in full bloom; I’ve never seen it better. This picture from today shows what you would see as you walk along the steep narrow ridge that leads to The Point. I also found a colony of the violets growing on The Savannah. This is important because one of the foods for the Regal Butterfly larvae is this plant.
