Colonies of this yellow wildflower have just started to bloom in the prairies. We are getting to the time of year when there are so many different kinds of yellow flowers blooming that I’ve heard them referred to as “damn yellow composites”. That expression refers to the many kinds of yellow daisy-like flowers that can be difficult to tell apart without a wildflower identification book.
At the PGT you can find several patches of it along the trails on Indigo Prairie. There are some right next to the Mima Mound.
