Sunflowers can be a challenge to identify. One way to recognize Ashy Sunflower is by the fine soft hairs that heavily cover many parts of the plant. It also has grayish ash-like foliage color, which gives it it’s common name.

At the PGT you can find several patches of it along the trails on Indigo Prairie. There are some right next to the Mima Mound.
