These wildflowers are starting to bloom in the prairies now. Sometimes I see hundreds of them scattered across the fields.
Wild Indigo is is just starting to bloom in the prairies. These tall spikes are the showiest of all the spring prairie wildflowers.
On our morning walk yesterday I found these wildflowers blooming along the path in Indigo Prairie that leads to The Savanna.
This small native tree is flowering now. The bare branches are covered by golden balls that are made up of the smaller blooms like you can see here.
