The warm season grasses are starting to flower. Indian Grass is the most common grass at the Prairie Garden Trust (PGT).
The pattern created by these twigs and the soft background colors caught my eye.
There are lots of yellow wildflowers blooming in the prairie now.
One of the more attractive butterflies I’ve been seeing this week is the Common Buckeye. The big “eyespots” on the wings makes them easy to identify.

With the rains we’ve had recently the landscape is suddenly more lush again, almost like Spring.
This wildflower is looking unusually good right now, with lots of blooms. Look for it along the water’s edge.
The simple pattern created by reflections on the edge of the pond caught my eye.
