Water Drops

After drought conditions for two months we’ve just had the heaviest rain that we’ve seen since we moved here in 1970; over 11-inches in two days.

This is the most common yellow flower blooming at the prairie at the Prairie Garden Trust (PGT) right now. They’ve really come out after the rains recently.

Resurrection Fern

During dry spells this fern curls up its fronds and appears desiccated, grey-brown and dead. After some rain, the fern will uncurl and reopen, appearing to “resurrect.”
