Parula Warbler

I found this tiny bird singing in a plum tree. More often I find them singing high up in sycamore trees along the creek.

Bird’s Foot Violet

Of the several kinds of violets at the PGT this is my favorite. It’s blooming now along the rocky path leading to The Point on the ridge over Hillers Creek.

Blue-eyed Mary

These wildflowers are blooming in the woods along Hillers Creek now. There are large masses of them carpeting the forest floor in Butternut Bottom.

Spring Beauty

Thousands of Spring Beauties are blooming in the woods at the PGT right now. They’ve been blooming for a few weeks but now must be the peak.

Tiger Swallowtail

I’ve seen several different kinds of butterflies the past few weeks, including Tiger Swallowtails. This one is feeding on a crabapple blossom.
