Eastern Red Cedar, Juniperus virginiana
Walking along the edges of the prairie today Lorna pointed out that the cedar trees have a lot of berries this year. I’m surprised to see that since we had a drought for the first half of the summer.
Cedars are our main type of evergreen. The best place to find them at the PGT is along fence rows. scattered at the edge of the woods and along the trail leading to The Point.
