Cold Enough for Real Ice

Matt Barnes on and Ice Chunks from Hillers Creek_4824Matt Barnes

This seems like the coldest winter for a couple of decades. It’s so cold that we are getting real ice on the creeks, ponds and lakes. Often they might not freeze over; this year the ice is a foot thick!

Here is a shot from today along Hillers Creek. Matt Barnes, the PGT Groundskeeper was sitting down from taking a break from clearing some woody debris. The ice he is sitting on is at least 12-inches thick.
