Yesterday a Yellowthroat startled me. It hopped out of a thicket on the edge of the path and started to make scolding noises. Then another one appeared and flew off to the left. That’s when I realized that they were trying to get my attention. They probably had young birds nearby and wanted to distract me. I kept walking and left them alone.
