Eastern Gamagrass, (Tripsacum dactyloides)
The hot weather is bringing out the native warm season grasses. Today I found this Eastern Gamagrass in full bloom just east of the PGT Visitor Center.
Eastern Gamagrass is uncommon at the PGT. The main big grasses are Big Bluestem and Indian Grass.
