Looking across Hillers Creek towards the Bur Oak (Quercus macrocarpa) in Butternut Bottom. Between the photo in April 2008 and April 2009, a major flood event swept through the creek bottom and washed the large Bur Oak away without a trace. (Henry searched up and down the creek after the flooding and couldn’t find the tree at all. )
