Dennis Figg helps identify a fern

Yesterday we had the first PGT Fern Walk. Dennis Figg, a biologist with the Missouri Department of Conservation led the walk that took us from the PGT Center to The Point and then down to the Hillers Creek Valley. In addition to seeing several kinds of ferns we came across a deer giving birth and found a newborn fawn just a few feet away. Wow!

Dennis did a great job. He started by introducing the terminology used to identify ferns and then showed us how to use that to help identify the different ferns we came across.
