Mt. Cuba was one of the gardens I enjoyed visiting the most at the APGA conference. As we were leaving they handed us a packet with the 2 GB USB drive shown above. It was filled with information about the garden; it had videos, pictures, text and brochures. I think this is smart marketing. Rather than printing all that information and burdening me with carrying it away they put it on something that is small enough to fit on a keychain.
This is a smart way to give your customers more information for less money; you can buy a 2 GB drive for $8. It is also better for the environment. Rather than giving me piles of printed matter it is simply data I can put on my computer. Once I’ve taken the data off it I can reuse it for my own storage.
