The light in the open woods near Beaver Lake was magical this morning. Henry was out with his camera and caught it. We’re planning to put a paved trail from the visitor center to the lake and this is what you could see there early summer mornings. You can find purple coneflowers, downy skullcap, joe pye weed, goldenrod and other flowers scattered throughout the woods, too.
Jamie Coe started work on thinning and spreading flowers here years ago, Henry and I overseeded it in 2010, and last winter Matt Barnes and Jen Sieradzki burned it again. And out of all that—plus the best weather summer ever—comes beauty!
