Great Blue Lobelia, (Lobelia siphilitica)

This picture was taken as I was taking a walk along Hillers Creek this morning. Blue Lobelia is fairly common along the edges of the creeks at the PGT right now. It looks just like Cardinal flower except it is blue. It has the scientific name “siphilitica” because it was once thought to be a cure for syphilis.
