Great Spangled Fritillary, (Speyeria cybele)
Milkweeds are butterfly magnets. This week three different species of milkweed have started to bloom: Common Milkweed, Purple Milkweed and Butterfly Weed.

Today I photographed this Great Spangled Fritillary feeding on the newly opened flowers of the aptly named Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa).
