Ruby-throated Hummingbird feeding on Indian Paintbrush

Walking past clusters of Indian Paintbrush on the prairie this morning I thought “This would be a perfect place to see a hummingbird.” Within seconds one appeared. They certainly are drawn to the color red.

I waited in several places hoping to see more but didn’t have any more luck.
