Indigo Bunting

Passerina cyanea
Indigo Bunting, (Passerina cyanea)

I saw my first Indigo Bunting last Saturday; now they seem to be everywhere. They are one of the birds you will almost certainly see on a summer bird-walk here at the PGT if you bring your binoculars. Unlike the warblers, Indigo Buntings are more likely to sit still so that you can see them. You’ll probably find a male singing from the top of some tree.
