Jack-in-the-Pulpit Seed Head, (Arisaema triphyllum)

Walking the woodland trails this time of year I occasionally find the intensely red seed heads of Jack-in-the-Pulpit. I’ve never tried eating the seeds because I’ve read that they contain the calcium oxalate crystals which cause your mouth to burn and swell.
