I felt lucky to catch a glimpse of this tiny sparrow darting in and out of the prairie grass this morning. This was on the edge of Beaver Lake.
LeConte’s Sparrow’s nest up in Canada and are just passing through the Prairie Garden Trust on their way to the Gulf Coast. The bird is only 5-inches long. The only other sparrows that we have that small are the Grasshopper Sparrow and Henslow’s Sparrow.
