Louisiana Waterthrush

Louisiana Waterthrush, Parkesia motacilla

On our picnic lunch yesterday in the Eastern Valley we heard our first spring warbler – a Louisiana Waterthrush. It looks drab, but the song is magical. It’s a series of sweet descending whistles followed by a jumble of notes.

The best place to find these warblers at the PGT is along the creeks.
