Golden currant, Ribes aureum

The fragrance of Golden Current is delicious. I don’t know how to describe it. If only there was some way to transmit it digitally over the internet.
But I can say it is very strong. If the wind is right and you are standing 50-feet away it will catch your attention. There is some blooming near the front door of the PGT Center right now.

The shrub is native over much of North America. It is native from Connecticut and Massachusetts across to Montana and down to Texas. See the attached USDA Map.
