Northern Cardinal

Its easy to see why Cardinals are a favorite bird. Stunning! I photographed this male today. If you look closely you can see the sunrise reflected in it’s eye. They are very common here at the PGT year round.

Some Swedish Ornithologists told me they wanted to visit the US so that they could see Cardinals and fireflies.

It is the state bird of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
