Orange Sulphur Butterfly

Orange Sulphur Butterfly on Pickerelweed, Colias eurytheme, Pontederia cordata

This butterfly is feeding on Pickerel weed, one of my favorite water plants. The showy violet-blue flower spikes last all summer long.

Pickerelweed grows along the edges of ponds and can be found blooming now at the Prairie Garden Trust (PGT).
