Prairie Hyacinth, (Camassia angusta)
Identifying native plants is challenging and fun. I see it like a game.
For example, I just found this plant blooming by Potter’s Lake. It resembled Wild Hyacinth but the color was more saturated. Also, Wild Hyacinth (Camassia scilloides) was blooming about a month ago. Thanks to a half-dozen plant identification books and Google I was able to identify a species of Hyacinth that is new to me: Prairie Hyacinth.
