Rattlesnake Master, (Eryngium yuccifolium)
Rattlesnake Master is just starting to flower. The flowers are grey-green, so it is easy to overlook them. With their sharp edges they seem more suited to a desert than to the prairie.

I found this plant along a trail just 5-minutes south of the PGT Visitor Center.
