Rib Cave

Flow Stone
Steve Mays approaches the Rib Cave

There is a lot of exposed rock at the PGT, especially along the Hillers Creek Valley. The rock has a variety of openings, including this unusual one that we call the “Rib Cave” because it looks like the ribs of some prehistoric animal. When the Geologist George Davis was out here recently he said that this was a type of flow stone. I don’t think any of the caves at the PGT go back more than 20 or 30 feet.
