Seeking Horticulturist for the PGT

The Prairie Garden Trust (PGT) provides a rare opportunity for a talented horticulturist to help design and develop a unique garden in a naturalistic way using native plants. The PGT is a new public nature garden in the Ozark foothills of central Missouri dedicated to sharing the beauty of nature. The 600 acres includes woods, prairie, ponds and streams. We’ve just completed a new master plan and are working on the architectural design of an expanded visitor center and overlook pavilions. Responsibilities and Requirements:
Designs and implements enhanced or new plantings of native plants and orders seed/plants as needed; supervises and works along with groundskeeper to develop and maintain visual appeal through site preparation, planting, mulching, weeding, mowing, tree thinning/pruning, helping with controlled burns, and applying herbicides for invasive plant control. Informs visitors as needed and develops volunteer corps. Degree in horticulture or related field, experience in public or estate gardens, and supervisory experience all required. Looking for a self-starter with knowledge of native plants and a passion for naturalistic design.
