This is not a Woolly Bear

Even though this looks a lot like a Woolly Bear it isn’t. The Woolly Bear Cateripillar does not have the red bands between its segments when it rolls into a ball for defense. As I kid I remember that Woolly Bears could predict the kind of winter to expect.

I found this caterpillar in the leaf litter along a trail in the woods at the PGT today.
