With more plants flowering I’m seeing more butterflies. This is an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail feeding on Pickerelweed. Pickerel weed is one of my favorite wildflowers for the water’s edge. They are beautiful and easy to grow. It has showy purple-blue flower spikes from now through October.

A good place to see Pickerelweed is at the edges of the Lotus Ponds.
