I  have aways dismissed the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker as being the ugliest of the seven different kinds of woodpeckers that we have at the PGT. They always looked mangy to me; as if they were always molting.

This week I found a male sapsucker that had flown into one of the windows at the PGT center and died. I was impressed with how beautiful it was as I held it in my hand so that I could photograph it with my iPhone.
