Louisiana Waterthrush

Louisiana Waterthrush, Parkesia motacilla On our picnic lunch yesterday a Waterthrush sang along the creek, a sure sign that Spring is here. These warblers just arrived at the PGT.

Redbud, Cercis canadensis Redbuds are in peak bloom now. This small native tree is a nice compliment to other flowering spring trees.

Spring Beauty, Claytonia virginica Yesterday I saw a Zebra Swallowtails feeding on these flowers. I don’t remember seeing Zebra Swallowtails so early in the year.
