Violet Wood Sorrel
Violet Wood Sorrel, Oxalis violacea I found a patch of these native wildflowers in the woods along the path to the Creek Overlook at the Prairie Garden Trust (PGT).
Louisiana Waterthrush
Louisiana Waterthrush, Parkesia motacilla On our picnic lunch yesterday a Waterthrush sang along the creek, a sure sign that Spring is here. These warblers just arrived at the PGT.

Downy Phlox, Phlox pilosa I was surprised to find this blooming yesterday at the PGT. Normally it blooms in mid-April.

Redbud, Cercis canadensis Redbuds are in peak bloom now. This small native tree is a nice compliment to other flowering spring trees.
