White-tailed Deer, (Odocoileus virginianus)

A deer and a fawn were browsing in the trees along the edge of the Dog-leg Prairie this morning. The deer and I stared at each other for several minutes before she decided to bolt.

We are enjoying a break from the intense heat but it is still bone dry.
