White-throated Sparrow

On my walk this morning I was hoping to see a White-crowned Sparrow. Instead I found this bird which is similar. One look will tell you why this bird is called the White-throated Sparrow.

The sunlight brings out the bright yellow patch (the “lore”)  in front of that eye.
