Persimmons are beginning to ripen and as they drop, they are being eaten by many kinds of mammals, including our dog Katy; she loves them. 

At the PGT you’re most likely to find persimmon trees growing along the edge of the woods. We’ve found that it can become invasive in prairies. After controlled burns it suckers; sending up many stems where there used to be just one.
