Wild Strawberry, (Fragaria virginiana)
I was surprised today to see a patch of Wild Strawberries in the South Prairie today. Herb planted that prairie in the late 1980s. It is surprising that such a small plant can compete with the Big Bluestem.You can also see the leaves of Rattlesnake Master on the left hand side of this picture.
